It’s confession time, I’ve never used a pill box. My experience with them has largely been that I toss the pill box in my purse, only to have it open up, dumping medications all over the inside of my handbag. I’ve never found pill boxes particularly useful, nor have I found one that I thought was attractive. Until that is, I saw a Port and Polish pill box on Instagram and thought I may have finally found something that could work for me.
What Caught My Attention
I was immediately charmed by what I saw online, simple unobtrusive cases that held 7 days worth of pills, and had double closure tops. The sleek shape and design seemed to be just slightly larger than an iPhone. This was a box that could sit on the table for a moment at a restaurant without calling attention to itself. Plus – the Port and Polish product seemed to be secure, cute, and only $15.
Port and Polish Pill Box Arrival and Unboxing
My Port and Polish Pill Box was a gift from my husband. He tells me that there were no problems in ordering, and everything went smoothly on that end.
The box was delivered through the USPS and fit easily inside my mail box. The simple brown cardboard mailer had been secured with a custom Port and Polish seal which was easily split to open with a small knife. When I opened the box I found a nice thank you note, and my pill box wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with the company logo. The presentation definitely made it feel like I opening a gift, not just a purchase.
- I love the navy blue color, and soft matte finish. The box is pretty, and doesn’t scream “Hey look, I’m sick!”
- The size is very manageable, and not much larger than my cell phone. It fits nicely into even my smallest handbag.
- The lids seem to have a nice fit, with a snap closure on the top lid. The interior inset glass mirror is larger than my make-up mirror, as a result it just might see additional use.
- Seven roomy interior daily compartments allow simple organization for an entire week. The compartments were larger than one would think for a box with such a slim line.
Would I recommend it?
Yes! My new pill box has seen use out in the world for a few days now. Quite happily I can say that the lids have not popped over dumping the contents everywhere. I’m very comfortable pulling it out of my purse in public without it being obvious to everyone around I am taking pills. Hopeful that with extended use it will continue to remain secure.
I have plans to get second Port and Polish Pill box I can travel with. Navy for my morning pills and pink to carry my evening pills in. That arrangement would make me comfortable traveling without the mass of bottles, saving a TON of room in my carry on bag.
The Port and Polish pill box is available in five different colors: blush pink, crisp white, charcoal gray, navy blue, and classic black. The sleek design and color variety makes this slim case something that a man or a woman would be comfortable carrying.
This tip was stolen from Becca Risa Luna and her Port and Polish pill box review. I don’t always need the same pills every day of the week when I’m out and about, so I turned my Port and Polish box into a mini pharmacy! Use a different compartments to carry different medications. Use one for a pain killer, one for a supplement, one for anxiety, and never be without what you need . All with the added benefit of that polished and fashionable aesthetic.
Up this hack by relabeling your compartments using a label maker.
